ThitsaWorks Team Participated in DFS Lab Mojaloop PISP Virtual Bootcamp

Updated: May 25, 2023

The ThitsaWorks team led by CEO Mr. Nyi Nyein Aye, CTO Ms. Thynn Win, and DCTO Mr. Aung Thaw Aye participated in DFS Lab Mojaloop PISP Virtual Bootcamp, which was successfully conducted on September 27-30, 2022.

It was an intensive workshop with the participation of 10 startups around the world. The activities were based on the Design Sprint Methodology and a process of structured brainstorming for answering critical business questions. The participating startups had a chance to design, prototype, and test ideas alongside top industry mentors and ultimately, build capacity and expertise in implementing Payment Initiation Service Providers (PISPs) using the Mojaloop platform.

The Bootcamp was also a great opportunity for the Payments Initiation Service Providers (PISPs) and financial institutions that are interested in building partnerships through third-party payment initiation (3PPI) to have an in-depth look at Mojaloop, build solutions in collaboration with the Mojaloop platform developers, and prototype products and features on the Mojaloop stack.

On Day 1 of the Bootcamp, with a focus on defining the problem and exploring solutions, the teams were first introduced to the concept of Design Sprints. And then, each team came up with a problem statement and started exploring solutions using sketches. Day 2 emphasis was finding solutions based on the best chance of achieving their long-term goal and then a step-by-step plan for their prototype was set up. On the last day, the teams built the prototypes for their solutions and prepared for the Demo session of their solutions.

On Demo Day, ThitsaWorks team presented a prototype of our financial literacy mobile app called Re21. As we aim to empower users to manage their finances effectively through digital financial tools, our solution focused on saving with ease and low cost, motivating them to save with goals, helping to create a habit and being an application that can interact with all Digital Financial Service Providers (DFSPs).

It was indeed an excellent opportunity for us for having a chance to actively participate in the Bootcamp together with the other participating startups as well as explore the next-generation payment features with a focus on third-party-payment initiation using Mojaloop technology. We are confident to contribute the experience gained from this Bootcamp to solving the critical business problem that we are facing in Myanmar as well as for the good of our ecosystem.
